  • Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist
    Amina Samee

    Amina has nine years of experience working in the area of counselling, psychotherapy and mental health. She has worked at Loreto Centre, Crumlin, a community-based counselling and psychotherapy Service. At Loreto Centre, Amina engaged with a variety of clients including those in the retirement community presenting with issues related to bereavement, loss, abandonment, childhood emotional neglect, depression, anxiety, trauma, suicidal ideation, physical or emotional abuse, low self-worth, the inner critic and life stage transitions. This laid a strong foundation for her work in therapeutic settings at Centric Mental Health where she has worked for the last three years engaging with clients struggling with depression, anxiety, low self-worth, bereavement, psychosocial development, assertiveness, the inner child, identity and belonging. 

    Prior to her training as a counsellor and psychotherapist, Amina volunteered with Aware, an organisation to combat depression in Ireland. She facilitated weekly support groups in Cabinteely and Bray for people struggling with depression and anxiety. 

    Amina uses an Integrative and Humanistic therapeutic approach when working with clients. The foundation to this involves Person-Centred Therapy and Psychosynthesis. Integrated into this foundation are insights, theories, ideas and concepts from Attachment Theory, Grief and Loss Theory, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Psychosocial Development, Gestalt Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). 

    Amina has additional training in Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), depression, relational and physical Trauma, shame, suicidal ideation and self-harm. 

    Amina’s goal is to facilitate her client’s ability to grow and evolve whilst respecting their values, beliefs, personal resources and capability for self-determination. She does this by holding a confidential, safe and empathic space for her clients and thereby developing a deep therapeutic bond and relationship.

  • Psychotherapist
    Ciara Heaslip

    Ciara is qualified with an MA (Clinical) in Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy and is registered with the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP). She mainly works with adults at Centric Mental Health.

    Ciara also has over 15 years of experience working as a Social Care Practitioner and Social Care Manager in homeless services. Through this work, Ciara has developed a compassionate, empathetic and non-judgmental approach to her work, and has experience supporting people with diverse backgrounds through traumatic and challenging personal experiences.

    Ciara is strongly guided by the principles of Humanistic Psychotherapy, which focuses on the client’s individuality, choice, responsibility and strengths. She aims to provide a safe, supportive and accepting environment in which to explore the client’s current struggles, increase self-awareness and create change in their lives. Ciara uses a range of approaches, including Psychodynamic, Gestalt and Mindfulness, and has training in Body Psychotherapy and Body-Oriented Coaching.

  • Psychotherapist
    Jiyoung Kim

    Jiyoung has a special interest in working with young people and adults to understand and work through persistent difficulties which arise as a result of experiences in childhood and has had a particular focus in the area of trauma for many years.

    She uses a psychodynamic or psychoanalytic approach to explore and begin to make sense of the individual’s existing situation as well as the feelings, thoughts, beliefs, behaviours and memories that are brought about by this situation. Jiyoung provides a space in which one can speak completely freely and begin a rewarding journey of self-discovery and healing.
