    Ali Robertson

    Ali has over 11 years of clinical experience working with children, adolescents and adults as a therapist, Clinical Coordinator and therapeutic Head of Department in conjunction with key stakeholders from health, education and residential care settings. She has additional training in suicide prevention, child safeguarding, self-harm, sexual health, restorative justice and complex trauma including attachment trauma and abuse. Her approach to each client is individual creative and empathic. The majority of her work is with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety & panic disorders, low mood and self-esteem difficulties.

    Ali says: “I work in conjunction with parents to help the young person build on their own coping capacity & provide a non-judgemental safe place for them to share their difficulties, working creatively when the client can’t find the ‘right words.’’

    Amina Samee

    Amina has nine years of experience working in the area of counselling, psychotherapy and mental health. She has worked at Loreto Centre, Crumlin, a community-based counselling and psychotherapy Service. At Loreto Centre, Amina engaged with a variety of clients including those in the retirement community presenting with issues related to bereavement, loss, abandonment, childhood emotional neglect, depression, anxiety, trauma, suicidal ideation, physical or emotional abuse, low self-worth, the inner critic and life stage transitions. This laid a strong foundation for her work in therapeutic settings at Centric Mental Health where she has worked for the last three years engaging with clients struggling with depression, anxiety, low self-worth, bereavement, psychosocial development, assertiveness, the inner child, identity and belonging. 

    Prior to her training as a counsellor and psychotherapist, Amina volunteered with Aware, an organisation to combat depression in Ireland. She facilitated weekly support groups in Cabinteely and Bray for people struggling with depression and anxiety. 

    Amina uses an Integrative and Humanistic therapeutic approach when working with clients. The foundation to this involves Person-Centred Therapy and Psychosynthesis. Integrated into this foundation are insights, theories, ideas and concepts from Attachment Theory, Grief and Loss Theory, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Psychosocial Development, Gestalt Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).

    Amy has five years of extensive experience in clinical settings, including the Mater Misericordia University Hospital, where Amy continued her personal development as a Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist, with the Department of Liaison Psychiatry. Amy’s experience in higher educational institutions includes The National College of Art and Design (NCAD), where Amy worked as a psychotherapist, offering one-to-one therapy to art students within the college. Amy has also trained in rehabilitation services and probation facilities in Dublin, where individuals who have experienced mental health difficulties have explored educational opportunities and learned to re-engage in work and education through psychosocial training and intervention. Amy has most recently worked with adolescents in the care of the state.

    Christina’s clinical experience also includes two years working independently in Bray at Living Life Counselling with various adolescent and couple issues.

    Christine is a qualified psychotherapist and is registered with the Irish Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP).     Eva Cafferkey

    Eva provides individual therapy to adults with different mental health issues such as anxiety disorders and depression at Centric Mental Health, Navan Road. She also works with bereavement, self-esteem issues and life challenges. Eva has a special interest in the effects of chronic illness on individuals and family members.

    Eva is a Counselling Psychologist and a registered member of the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI). She obtained her undergraduate degree in Psychology from University College Dublin (UCD) and then went on to complete a Research Master’s in Psychology, also at UCD.

    Eva then continued her professional training at Trinity College Dublin (TCD) where she obtained an MSc. in Counselling Psychology. She has also completed a Diploma course in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and attended workshops on the topic of bereavement.

    Lorna Breen

    Lorna has trained and volunteered with VCS (Village Counselling Service) in Tallaght.

    She also worked at Bath Avenue Counselling Centre in South Dublin for two years before joining Centric  Mental Health. She worked as a social care worker for several years before becoming a full-time psychotherapist, specifically within the disability sector.

    Lorna is an integrative psychotherapist who utilises a person-centred and humanistic approach when working with clients. Also incorporating CBT techniques, Lorna focuses on the collaborative relationship between client and therapist in her practice.     Martyna is also an experienced Cognitive Behavioural Therapist.  CBT is a form of psychological treatment that has been demonstrated to be effective for a range of problems including depression, anxiety disorders, alcohol and drug use problems, marital problems, eating disorders and more.  She has worked closely  with clients struggling with depression, low self-worth, sexual orientation-related issues, ACoA (Adult children of alcoholics) and adults with ADHD.
