Jennifer’s Qualifications & Education
Jennifer is a Psychotherapist and an accredited member of the Irish Association of Counsellors & Psychotherapists (IACP) in Ireland. Jennifer completed a B.A. (Hons) in Counselling & Psychotherapy at the Dublin Business School and is currently undertaking an MA in Integrative Psychotherapy with Cork Institute of Technology (expected completion date June 2019). Recently, she completed Gottman Couple Therapy (Levels 1-3) training and is pursuing her accreditation in tandem with her Master studies. Jennifer’s career started out in Business and has both an honours degree in Business Studies with German from University of Limerick and Research Masters in Consumer Behaviour from National University of Ireland, Cork.
Jennifer has worked in private practice for the last 5 years and has experience in working with adults presenting a wide variety of mental health difficulties. She has provided individual counselling via face to face, telephone & video conferencing. Her therapeutic approach is integrative and person-centred, influenced by Internal Family Systems, Solution Focused Brief Therapy and Psychodynamic where appropriate. Above all she facilitates a safe, supportive, nurturing environment facilitating the client to better understand themselves and their problems, and to find more satisfying ways of living. She believes that every person has a unique strengths and resources, that allow them to make even the most difficult changes in their lives.
Jennifer has a special interest in dealing with people who experience issues within the workplace (e.g. work stress, bullying/intimidation etc), having worked over a decade in the corporate business environment. Additionally, she is a fluent German speaker and is happy to work through German for those who feel more comfortable expressing themselves in their native language.
Jennifer works with clients presenting with a wide range of difficulties including depression, stress, anxiety, bereavement and relationship issues.
