James is a qualified integrative psychotherapist with over 5 years’ experience in a variety of clinical settings. An accredited member of The Irish Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP), James trained with the Institute on Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy and a has a B.A in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy.
He subsequently completed post graduate training in the Gottman Method of Relationship Therapy (LEVEL 2). James is also CTRT trained (Centre Therapy/Reality Therapy) which is a type of CBT.
Throughout his career, James has worked with a wide selection of issues and difficulties ranging from anxiety, stress, addiction, depression, trauma/abuse and phobias. James works with couples and adults (over 18) and is a trained relationship therapist with specialist Gottman training. He also has extensive experience of working with different cultures and backgrounds
In his practice, James uses a combination of different therapeutic styles to provide a secure, supportive and collaborative space to suit his clients. Using a person-centred approach, James believes that each client is unique and tailors his sessions to meet each clients’ individual needs.
When working with couples, James’ most used approach is the Gottman method of relationship counselling and Choice therapy/Reality therapy.
