Qualifications & Education
Beatriz is a Counselling Psychologist, a Psychotherapist, and a Graduate Member of the Psychological Society of Ireland. She completed a BA (Hons.) in Psychology at Dublin City University, a BA in Psychotherapy in IICP and subsequently a Professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology at TCD. In addition, Beatriz has obtained professional certificates in CBT and Child and Adolescent Counselling and Psychotherapy. Beatriz is also an Applied Linguist with master’s degrees in Psycholinguistics as well as Language and Communication Studies at Trinity College Dublin (TCD) and has previously worked within the linguistics field.
Beatriz has experience in a variety of settings including clinics, hospitals and community services working with a wide range of psychological issues across the lifespan.
She has worked with adults (both individually and in groups) in the HSE primary care services, and with adolescents, their families and groups of young people in a psychiatric hospital. Beatriz also has experience working with children in a clinical setting. Additionally, she has undertaken clinical work and research in the rehabilitative brain injury unit in the National Rehabilitation Hospital.
Beatriz works with people experiencing a wide range of difficulties including anxiety, depression, trauma, interpersonal difficulties, and bereavement. Her approach to clinical work is evidenced-based and holistic, aiming at helping people address difficulties and challenges through the use of a range of therapeutic approaches including Person-Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Emotion Focused Therapy. Beatriz takes an integrative and individualised approach to working with each person to address issues that may be causing them distress or difficulty.
